MIRI: Strong winds wrecked seven canopies at the Saberkas night market on Monday night (June 27), affecting more than 42 local traders.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident which occurred around 7pm.

Saberkas Night Market Traders Association chairman Abdul Rahman Jawawi estimated that the incident had caused around RM56,000 in damages.

He said that they had informed the Miri City Council (MCC) on the incident and hoped the relevant authorities would come forward to repair the damage.
