MIRI: Malaysian Diabetes Association Miri branch will set up a booth to provide free health-screening to participants and the public in conjunction with ‘Larian Bersama Bomba’ (Running with Bomba) on July 22.

Miri Fire and Rescue Department Zone 6 chief, Superintendent Law Poh Kiong said the booth would provide free health-screening, including blood glucose and blood pressure measurement, to promote public awareness on the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Law who was joined by the chairman of Malaysian Diabetes Association Miri branch, Ting Chiew Mei, and the branch’s members said this year’s charity run would benefit three organisations: Miri Autistic Association, Malaysian Diabetes Association Miri Branch, and Zone 6 Fire and Rescue Recreation and Welfare Club.

The health-screening booth will be open to the public from 6.30am to 8.30am for participants to be attended by doctors and volunteers.

It is limited to 400 people so members of the public are encouraged go for health-screening as early as possible.
