SEBUYAU: A total of 38 teams took part in the annual football competition for the Datuk Haji Julaihi Narawi challenge trophy held here for three days from July 8.

Thirty-two teams participated in the men’s open category, while six teams vied in the veteran’s open, aged 40 and above.

In the men’s open, Rasid FC emerged the champion to win RM2,000 cash, a challenge trophy a set of jerseys, while the veteran’s open was won by Tok Chabi FC from Sebuyau, walking away with RM1,000 cash, a trophy and set of jerseys.

On Thursday, Julaihi, who is also Sebuyau assemblyman, presented the prizes to the winners of both categories.

Organising chairman Osman Jamel said the tournament is held annually to bring the people together and promote healthy activities. — by Jacob Achoi
