KUCHING: Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Bhd (Bank Rakyat) has become the latest addition to the Pusat Bandar Phase 6 development in Miri.

The project, commissioned by Naim Group of Companies, is located within the fast-growing Naim’s Bandar Baru Permyjaya township.

According to Naim senior general manager for sales and marketing Alice Ting, Bank Rakyat’s presence will add value to Pusat Bandar Phase 6 towards it becoming a vibrant commercial hub in the city.

“Situated within our vibrant Naim Bandar Baru Permyjaya and strategically located opposite Permy Mall, our Pusat Bandar shophouses are highly-sought after commercial properties.

Out of the total six phases, all shophouse units were sold out, except those in Phase 5 and 6,” she said after the symbolic handover of the new Bank Rakyat premises to the bank’s Permy Jaya branch manager Suhana Othman recently.

“With a variety of exciting features such as double frontage, internal walkway and modern façade, as well as their proximity to amenities including the upcoming KPJ Miri Specialist Hospital, the shophouse units are an attractive option for investors and business-owners alike.

“As our Phase 5 and 6 shophouses are OP (Occupational Permit)-ready, business owners are also able to move in and commence business in a shorter period of time.

“We are thankful to Bank Rakyat for its support towards our Phase 6 development and would like to welcome the bank to the Pusat Bandar family,” said Ting.

Meanwhile, Suhana said in its constant endeavour to improve customer’s banking experience, the bank would be relocating its Permy Jaya branch to Pusat Bandar Phase 6.

“Our new address will be Bank Rakyat Permy Jaya, Lot 6131 and 6132, Pusat Bandar, Bandar Baru Permy Jaya, 98000 Miri.

“Currently, we have two branches in Miri.

“As Pusat Bandar is strategically located, thereby providing greater accessibility to all, our new location will allow us to provide better services to our customers in a more modern environment.

“This is in line with our goal to offer the highest quality of services to our valued clients.

“We are thankful to be able to relocate to this great location.

“We expect to commence operations at the new premises in January 2017,” Suhana said.

Established in 1954, Bank Rakyat is currently the largest Islamic cooperative bank in Malaysia, with 148 branches nationwide.

It offers a wide spectrum of Islamic banking products to suit every customer’s banking needs including the eCurrent Account-i, Savings-i Account, Term Deposit-i Account, Personal Financing-i, Home Financing-i, Auto Financing-i, Pawn Broking-i, Credit Card-i and Debit Card-i.
