Thousands of fish released into Martapura River

BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: Although the Minister of Marine and Fisheries Susi Pudjiastuti canceled her attendance here, but the release of Banjar Red Arowana fish in the Banjarmasin river at the peak month of quarantine service and quality of the fishery on Tuesday remain to be implemented, AntaranewsKalsel reported.

Susi planned to release 184 arowana fish, in addition to tens of thousands of other fish, including kalabau, papuyu, jelawat (all three are typical fish of Kalimantan), and carp into Martapura River at the siring (river embankment) in front of the City Hall.

The role of the minister represented by the Head of the Fish Quarantine, Quality Control and Safety of Fishery Dr Rina, accompanied by Governor H Sahbirin Noor, Mayor of Banjarmasin Ibnu Sina and provincial and municipal consulative forum.

Governor H Sahbirin Noor stated although the Minister Susi was not present, but this important event could still be lively and appropriated objectives.

“Banjarmasin has an incredible wealth of river, till the release of fish seed is very useful for its preservation,” he said.

In addition to the release of tens of thousands of fish seed, on this occasion handed over certificates of appreciation to some of the best in the implementation of UPT KIPM during the month of devotion, the certificate for fish farming, and for good fish quarantine.

Likewise, the delivery of 16,697 fishing card, submission of fisherman rights to land as many as 1,728 certificates.
