KUCHING: SJK Chung Hua No. 4 were crowned overall champions of the inaugural PASC Inter-Primary Schools Swimming Competition when they amassed 625 points to beat 19 other teams.

They scored 402 points from their boys and 253 points from the girls.

The school also earned the best boy swimmer awards through Jonas Lau Jiang Le (Primary 3) and Vince Kuek Yong Xi (Primary 6) and the best girl swimmer in Primary 2 through Sandra Wong.

Jonas won four golds in the individual events and two in the relays while Vince bagged four golds in the individual events and a gold and silver in the relays.

Overall second place with 455 points were SJK Chung Hua No. 2 who topped the girls competition with 276.5 points finished fourth in the boys competition with 178.5 points.

The third and fourth spots went to Tunku Putra School and Lodge School with 423 points and 312 points respectively.

Finishing in sixth to tenth positions were St Joseph Private School (215 points), SJK Chung Hua No. 3 (142), SK Song Kheng Hai (84), SK Green Road (82), SJK Chung Hua Sg Tapang (77) and SJK Sam Hap Hin (69).

The one-day meet, organised by Power Aquatics Swimming Club (PASC) at the Aquatics Centre of Excellence, Youth and Sports Complex, was closed by Batu Kitang assemblyman and Padawan Municipal Council chairman Lo Khere Chiang.
