KOTA KINABALU: The national level Mister Universal Ambassador Malaysia and state level Miss Sabah Earth 2016 grand finals will be held simultaneously this Saturday, July 23, at 6.30pm in Soluxe Hotel, Putatan near Kota Kinabalu City.

Organising Chairman Victor Bryan said that this is the first time the national level Mister Universal Ambassador Malaysia is held in Sabah. The competition is a male beauty pageant, to discover dedicated men who can inspire the young generation around the world. He said the competition will be participated by ten young men from all over the country vying for the prestigious Mister Universal Ambassador Malaysia title.

The finalists are Jason A/L Ganesan from Sandakan, Sabah; Muhd Mazreza Rahimi Bin Kamarul Mazlan from Seremban, Negeri Sembilan; Mohd Nur Erfan Hanif Bin Mohd Said from Petaling Jaya, Selangor; Mikhail Isaaq Bin Mohd Rozi from Cheras, Kuala Lumpur; Muhammad Hanif Shaqirin Bin Razali from Kota Marudu, Sabah; Joshua Lennet from Miri, Sarawak; Mohammad Zarul Sharif Bin Zulamran from Shah Alam, Selangor; Octavian Pagag from Sarawak; Jack Langgie from Sarawak and Timothy Ong Shu Wei also from Sarawak.

Meanwhile ten young ladies will be competing for the coveted Miss Sabah Earth title. The finalists are Ernietta Henry Ansou Gunsalam from Kundasang, Devrie Alex from Penampang, Fredda Evanna Jemie from Pekan Manggatal, Kota Kinabalu, Angglen Jakus from Kota Marudu, Trashelly Goh Pei Yin from Putatan,  Terisellah Kend from Kudat, Venisa Judah from Sandakan, Elsie R Marius from Papar, Fillonie Francis Debully from Sipitang and Shareen Jee Wong from Tambunan.

Bryan said before the grand finale, the finalists had visited Lok Kawi Wildlife Park and Monsopiad Heritage Village to heighten the awareness on wildlife protection and conservation and also to promote the unique cultural heritage in Sabah. The visits also aimed to foster camaraderie and goodwill among the contestants.

He said that the grand finale for both competitions will be conducted in three rounds. For Mister Universal Ambassador Malaysia, the finalists will be wearing national costumes, beach wear and finally smart attire.

The Miss Sabah Earth contestants will be donning casual wear, eco wear and in the final round, in pageantry evening gown. He added that the eco wear and the evening gowns will be designed by the finalists themselves.

Attractive prizes are offered for the national level search, whereby the winner, first runner-up and second runner-up will receive trophy, sash and cash prizes of RM2,000, RM1,500 and RM1,000, respectively. The winner will represent Malaysia at the Mister Universal Ambassador 2016 which is expected to be held in Bali, Indonesia from September 21 to 30.

Seven subsidiary titles are offered for the Mister Universal Ambassador Malaysia, namely Mister Popularity (Audience Choice), Mister Fitness, Mister Best In Beach Wear, Mister Photogenic, Mister Best In Public Speaking, Mister Best In Catwalk and Mister Best In National Costume.

Winners for the Miss Sabah Earth titles, namely Miss Sabah Earth, Miss Sabah Air, Miss Sabah Water and Miss Sabah Fire will receive trophy, sash and cash prizes of RM2,000, RM1,500, RM1,000 and RM800, respectively. The top three winners will represent Sabah at the national level Miss Malaysia Earth which is expected to be held in Ipoh, Perak in August.

Six subsidiary titles will be offered for the Miss Sabah Earth pageant, namely Miss Popularity (Audience choice), Best In Eco Wear, Most Creative in Eco Wear, Best in Evening Gown, Most Creative in Evening Gown and Miss Sabah Earth Body Beautiful.

He said reigning world winner Mister Universal Ambassador 2015, Christian Daniel Ortiz from Puerto Rico and also the reigning Mister Universal Ambassador Malaysia and Mister World Malaysia 2016, Mohd Yusof Tony will also be present during the coronation night, together with celebrity emcee extraordinaire Dato’Mahadzir Lokman.

The organiser is also offering cash prizes to the best-dressed male and female audience and the most creatively dressed audience that night.
