KOTA KINABALU: Pakatan Pro-BN (Sabah) has challenged DAP member of parliament Tony Pua to provide evidence on allegations from the United States Department of Justice that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak allegedly stole billion of Ringgit from the government.

According to its president, Zulkarnain Mahdar, Tony Pua had written on his Twitter claiming that the US Department of Justice was allegedly investigating Najib for billion of Ringgits from the government.

“I challenge Tony Pua to provide evidence of his allegation within 24 hours. Failure to do so Pakatan Pro-BN (Sabah) will lodge a police report against him for defamation,” he said in a statement on Thursday.

Zulkarnain also said that if Pua failed to provide any proof of his allegation, he would personally brand Pua as a liar.

“I will also award a ‘liar’ certificate and a trophy to Pua if he cannot provide any proof of his allegation,” he said.

The United States Department of Justice is seeking civil lawsuits to seize USD1 billion (RM4.02 billion) worth of assets allegedly obtained using funds from 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

US Attorney-General Loretta Lynch however did not mention Najib’s name in the investigation but only names of three individuals were released by the Department of Justice.
