MIRI: Over 1,000 members of the Sarawak Dayak Association (Pedas) and other non-governmental organisations took part in a four-hour peaceful demonstration yesterday to seek justice for slain politician Bill Kayong. The demonstration ran from 9am until noon.

A number of police officers were seen monitoring the situation. Demonstrators carried banners and chanted calls of justice for Bill, who was Pedas secretary and Parti Keadilan Rakyat Miri secretary.

He was gunned down in his vehicle on June 2, while stopping at a traffic light in Permyjaya.

To date Mohamad Fitri Pauzi has been charged with the murder, while Lie Chang Loon and three others still at large were charged with abetting Fitri with the murder.
