Barabai won Adipura for four times

BARABAI, South Kalimantan: The capital of Central Hulu Sungai (HST) Barabai again winning Adipura award for the four times as the cleanest small town, AntaranewsKalsel reported.

The award was presented by Indonesian Vice President HM Yusuf Kalla to the HST Regent H Abdul Latif at the peak of World Environment Day ceremony at Siak Palace, Riau, on Friday (22/7).

Barabai won the same award in 2012, 2014, and 2015. For this success, in addition to pride, Latif gave his exceptional appreciation to all parties involved, especially the Environment Agency (BLH), yellow troops as the vanguard of cleanliness of Barabai, and all ranks.

“Alhamdulillah (Thank God) we can achieve Adipura. All thanks to the hard work, teamwork and solid cooperation between agencies and across the entire community involved,” he said.

Latif hopes Adipura to encourage the local society to have clean culture, because it is the main purpose and no other. To that end, he requested commitment, hard work and compactness tobe further enhanced, so that in the future people will be civilized with clean, healthy, neat and beautiful.

“What is more important is the development and foster cultural awareness of clean living and protecting the environment to be healthy by the entire community,” he said.
