KUCHING: Sarawak diversPeter Gaing and Carlysle Chansuccessfully defended their men’s 3m springboard synchro title yesterday.

The 2014 Sukma champions topped the scoring table again with a total of 352.92 points to comfortably beat out Sabah’s Jellson Jabilin and Gabriel Gilbert Daim (285.30) and Selangor’s Ikhlas Ahmad Sharol and Farez Izzudin Shuhaim (284.70).

In the women’s plat form, national diver Loh Zhia Yi from Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur (WPKL) not surprisingly took home the gold medal.

Loh, who also won in the event in Sukma Perlis two years ago, amassed 289.55 points to beat two young pretenders from the hostingstate.

Kimberly Bong Qian Ping tookthe silver with 235.95 points.

Another Sarawak diver Eilisha Rania Abrial Raja Gopal Francis celebrated her 11th birthday yesterday with the bronze medal after accumulating 215.70 points.

Sarawak remain on top of the medal standings in diving with a tally of three gold, three silver and four bronze medals.

Perak wit h two gold and Selangor with one gold, two silver, two bronze are lying second and third overall.
