KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem was briefed on the progress achieved by Regional Corri dor Development Authority (Recoda) – the lead agency in the development of Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE) – during its 7th Board of Directors Meeting on Wednesday.

Adenan, who is Recoda’s Board of Directors chairman, was also briefed on the overall development of SCORE by Recoda chief executive officer and board secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar Wilson Baya Dandot.

Wilson highlighted that while the success to date is admirable, the authority is diversifying its spectrum in line with its emerging focus for SCORE.

He briefed the board on key highlights from Samalaju Growth Node with figures to back up the success story as SCORE matures and diversifies into more markets and industries.

“The SCORE development model, which currently covers the central region of Sarawak, has provided a successful development model in the state.

“Through the development of roads and other infrastructure, it has opened up the rural areas, created jobs and employment and brought about economic growth and expansion of the state’s economy,” said Wilson.

With a total planned investment of RM334 billion by 2030, SCORE’s current total realised public and private investment figure is about RM70 billion.

Projects under SCORE have created over 22,720 jobs since 2008.
