KUCHING: Sarawak BN will hold a meeting after Sukma 2016 to discuss a formula to resolve the issue involving the nine direct BN assemblypersons who are still partyless.

PBB deputy president Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg yesterday said he believed the formula would be accepted by all leaders of state BN component parties.

“The chief minister, who is also PBB president, has a formula on how to accept the nine. I think the formula will pave the way for consensus among (state BN) component parties,” he said when met by journalists at his office at Masja here yesterday.

To a question, Abang Johari said the meeting would be called after Sukma 2016 but before the next State Legislative Assembly sitting – to be held sometime in October or November this year.

“By then, we will know the formula. Either the chief minister or secretary general will announce the formula.”

Abang Johari, who is also deputy chief minister, said he could not disclose the formula as it was the prerogative of the chief minister. “But basically, it (the formula) will be understood among all in state BN.”

The nine direct BN candidates are Datuk Dr Jerip Susil (Mambong), Ranum Mina (Opar), Dr Johnical Rayong Ngipa (Engkilili), Dato Gerawat Gala (Mulu), John Ilus (Bukit Semuja), Miro Simuh (Serembu), Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom (Pakan), Paulus Gumbang (Batu Danau) and Rosey Yunus (Bekenu).

Meanwhile, The Borneo Post learnt that the formula would be discussed at the Sarawak BN Council first and later at the federal BN Council.
