KOTA SAMARAHAN: Sarawak’s Ngu Gao Teck won the gold medal and erased the Sukma record for the 50m men’s compound event held by Zulfadhli Ruslan of Pulau Pinang at Sukma Pahang 2012.

He scored 349 points to break Penan’s Zulfadhli Ruslan four-year-old record by seven.

Teammate Kho Yee Ting followed Ngu’s class act by winning the women’s 70m compound event with 342 points to shatter Perak’s Saritha Cham Nong’s 2010 Sukma record by two points.

Sarawak team manager Halim Muhammad was obviously happy with his team’s overall collection of 2 gold,1 silver and 1 bronze medal so far.

“We are doing fine and have already surpassed our target for Sarawak,” he said.

The archery competition continues at Unimas, Kota Samarahan today (July 26).
