MIRI: IBS College student Roslind Phua Sze Ling, who is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, was among the recipients of Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) scholarship recently.
“Receiving this scholarship means I can realise my dream by continuing my degree without burdening my family”, said Roslind, adding that other IBS students should try their best to follow in her footsteps.
Roslind was the first IBS student to receive the award after SEB and IBS College inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) last November.
The collaboration aimed at developing employment opportunities for top performing diploma graduates and industrial training for undergraduate students at SEB as well as scholarship awards for top performing students.
IBS College offers business and finance programmes leading to certificates, diplomas and degrees with specialisations in accounting and finance, human resources management, marketing management, international business and business administration.
The college is the first private institution of higher learning in Sarawak to offer the Diploma in Security and Safety Management. Their next intake will commence on Aug 29.
