SIBU: Telekom Malaysia (TM) Bhd has extended assistance residence of Rumah Jalak in Tanjung Penasu, whose longhouse was destroyed in fire earlier this month.
TM Sibu manager Annuar Manai led a team of 15 staff members for a visit to the victims yesterday, bringing with them some cash, clothing and other essential items.
“We hope that this small contribution could bring some relief to the victims. This charity gesture is part of the company’s effort to help those in need,” Annuar said.
The presentation was witnessed by political secretary to chief minister Romeo Christopher Tegong.
Two-hundred fifty residents of Rumah Jalak were left homeless after fire razed down 39 out of 52 household units at the longhouse close to midnight on July 12.
