SANDAKAN: An ambulance, carrying a patient and medical staff, heading towards the Duchess of Kent Hospital collided with a military truck belonging to the Royal Malaysian Navy at Mile 18, off Labuk Road on Tuesday.

The military truck which was heading to Tawau from Sandakan was reportedly trying to avoid a vehicle in front which had braked suddenly and in doing so veered to the opposite lane and crashed with the ambulance.

There were no reported injuries or casualty from either vehicles.

Sandakan police chief ACP Zabidi Md Zain called on the public who saw the accident to help the police in its investigation under Section 43 of the Road Transport Act 1987.
