SIBU: Pansar Bhd has declared a four per cent dividend of 20 sen per ordinary share of its financial year ended March, 2016.

At its annual general meeting yesterday, the company also reported a total turnover of RM3604 million net income of RM7.9 million and earnings per share of 2.81 sen for the fiscal year.

Chairman Dato James Tai stated that the less-than-enthusiastic global regional and local economic sentiment brought about by the sustained downward pressure on prices and demand for commodities, the depreciation of the Malaysian ringgit, the reverberation from the removal of fuel subsidies and te commencement of the Goods and Services Tax had a cascading effect on the performance of Pansar’s five business divisions.

Pansar has employed a two-prong long-term strategy to address the future of the company, including diversification and widening of revenue bases, and optimising business efficiencies continued.

Managing director Datuk Jason Tai , meanwhile, asserted that the undercurrents pinning the Malaysian business environment in the last fiscal year has simmered down and expectations are now more realistic and firm, among their principals, vendors and clients.
