KUCHING: UCSI Sarawak Campus celebrated its outstanding students, in addition to honouring the graduating Foundation Studies Class of 2016, during the recent UCSI Red Carpet Awards Night.
Held at UCSI’s very own Quad Restaurant, the event was reminiscent of a glamorous Hollywood-style cocktail reception, lavishly reflecting the theme of this year’s awards ceremony. The ambiance with the delicious mock-tails and hors d’ oeuvres encouraged mingling among the guests.
In the highlight of the evening’s award presentations, the Honour Roll Awards were presented to students from Foundation Studies who scored a Grade Point Average (GPA) or Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.75 and above.
A Best Achievement Award was also presented to one special student, Ronald Wong, who achieved a CGPA of 3.95 in his Foundation Studies.
The Dean’s List Awards were then presented to diploma and degree students of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management who received a GPA of 3.5 and above for the January Semester of 2016.
After all the awards were presented, the Foundation Studies graduating class of 2016 were then acknowledged and presented with their academic scrolls.
The event was put together by project director and a UCSI Faculty Administrator Loi Min Wei, with other staff as well as 79 students from the Centre for Pre-university Studies and the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management.
Present were UCSI Sarawak chief operating officer Mukvinder Kaur Sandhu, Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management dean Associate Professor Dr Kashif Hussain, department heads, lecturers and invited guests.
The September intake is now open for registration, with classes commencing on Aug 29.
