BINTULU: The Federation of Registered Chinese Association Bintulu Division (Forca) brought up several issues faced by the Chinese community here during a dialogue session with Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) at Wisma Bintulu yesterday.

A two-page memorandum was also handed over by Forca Bintulu president Hii Toh Him to BDA general manager Rodziah Morshidi for further action.

The dialogue was also attended by other Forca committee members and BDA senior managers.

Among the issues Hii said was the widening of road from Medan Jaya to Tanjung Kidurong, roadside trees regularly trimmed and the repair of street lights.

“We are also appealing to the local authority to build a multi-storey car park near Bintulu Hospital for the convenience of the public.

“We also appeal to the government to reserve that piece of land near the hospital for the hospital to use later.

“Bintulu and its population are growing.

“So, facilities at the hospital need to be upgraded in the near future,” he said.

The association hoped the local authority would impose the law regarding cleanliness, indiscriminate dumping activities and the indiscriminate parking of vehicles.
