Ex-students donate RM33,000 to PTA

TAWAU: SM Holy Trinity Class of 1984 students and Rural Media Company manager Koh Kian Leong donated RM33,000 to the school’s Parents-Teachers Association (PIBG) to purchase school equipment.

Koh said he felt proud and thankful, and as a former student he could come back to the school and attend the school-level World Peace and Environment Program, in conjunction with the National Day month.

“The contribution is one of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility programs and it is hoped that the school can utilize the equipment towards the school’s excellence,” he said during the program yesterday at the school hall.

He said he also hoped former students and members of the public would come forward to give contribution that was needed by the school PIBG.

In conjunction with the National Day month, Koh said he hoped through the school’s various activities , the students could cultivate the spirit of patriotism, recognize the importance of patriotism, to better understand the meaning of independence and so appreciate the unity between the races

“I give my full support to the program in the hope of  harmony in society and the country, as well as being environmentally friendly.  World peace will bring international harmony and in turn will contribute to peace and prosperity to the lives of human beings,” he said.

Koh also contributed 150 Malaysia flags to the school for its National Day program.

During the program, Soka Gakkai Malaysia held an exhibition promoting world peace and environmental  awareness.
