KUCHING: SLTA-Greensports made a successful defence of its crown at the 2nd Dato President Cup when it beat Persatuan Tenis Bumiputera Sarawak (PTBS) 3-0 in a repeat of last year’s final at SLTA Centre yesterday.
Managed by Brandon Wong and parading players like Gilbert Yeo, Shawn Lee, Kelvin Chong, Leslie Jong, Gregory Tan, Kenneth Tan and Jimmy Hsieh, SLTA-Greensports had topped Group A with 3-0 wins over MRS Blue, Greensports Junior and Pink Ribbon.
They went on to thump Group B runnersup Sarawak Club 3-0 while Group B table-toppers PTBS beat Greensports Junior also 3-0 in the semi-finals.
Apart from the challenge trophy, SLTA-Greensports also picked up a winner’s cheque for RM1,500 and medals. PTBS received RM750 while semi-finalists
Sarawak Club and Greensports Junior each received RM400 and medals.
