MIRI: A Twin Otter DHC6-400 plane belonging to MASwings skids from the runway at Marudi Airport at 4.05pm yesterday but the two pilots and three passengers on board were safe.

According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the plane on a flight from Miri to Marudi had veered onto a grassy verge close to the fence surrounding the airport.

“Upon receiving information from DCA Marudi, six of our personnel led by PBK11 Awang Busrah and LFRT Atego vehicles, arrived at the scene in four minutes.

“However all the crew and passengers had safely exited the plane, No operation was carried out as there was no report of injury to people or damage to the aircraft,” Bomba said yesterday.
