KUCHING: Management Committee chairman Wong Tiong Hook of Kuching Chung Hua Primary Schools No.1 to 6 has urged pupils to take an active part in sports, saying that it is no less important than academic.

Stating this at the opening ceremony of Chung Hua Primary School No.3’s Sports Day at Jubilee Ground here yesterday, he encouraged pupils to actively participate in sports and hopefully, they could go far for accolades in international games like the Olympics.

He said it takes time and discipline to become a good athelete while sports training builds up pupils to be physically and mentally strong.

He also advised pupils not to waste time on phones and playing computer games but to finish their home work, do revisions and listen to their parents.
