LIMBANG: The search-and-rescue (SAR) team has found a mute and dumb farmer safe and sound after he was reported missing in the jungle near his farm near Kampung Pengkalan Rejab on Thursday.

Serail 68, clad in back pants and t-shirt, was found in a weak state sitting by the riverbank at 10.22am

“After finding him, the team gave the victim mineral water and then brought him to board the boat back to the village,” Mohamad Ali said yesterday.

Joining the fire and rescue team in the SAR operation were personnel from the Civil Defence Force, the police and the villagers themselves.

According to Timbang’s cousin, Durahman Bakar, 66, who joined in the SAR operation, this was the third time Timbang had lost his way after entering the same jungle in search of ‘assam paya’, his favourite fruit.
