MIRI: Miri police arrested two men in their 30s and 40s yesterday for suspected involvement in the  assault of a man at Jalan Merbau on Sept 14.

The suspects were rounded up at a house in Taman Tunku at about 12.30am by a team of police from the Crime Investigation Department (CID), who seized a samurai sword and a car from the duo.

The CID team has so far arrested three out of the five people allegedly involved in the assault.

The first suspect was arrested a day after the assault.

In the Sept 14 incident, the victim who lodged the report on the alleged assault claimed that he was attacked with a knife and an iron rod while he was walking towards his car parked at Jalan Merbau.
