SEREMBAN: The South Zone Highway Patrol Unit arrested a man suspected to be a drug trafficker at KM253 of the North-South Expressway heading south (PLUS) near Senawang together with heroin and methamphetamine worth over RM180,000.

Seremban police chief ACP Muhamad Zaki Harun said the suspect who was on his way to Kuala Lumpur from Johor Baharu, was arrested around 10.30am yesterday, after being spotted behaving suspiciously.

“On checking the car driven by the 26-year-old suspect, three packets of heroin wrapped in aluminum foil and a package wrapped in clear plastic believed to be the drug methamphetamine were found in a backpack that was placed in the front passenger seat.

The heroin was found to weigh 905 grammes while the drug methamphetamine weighed 1.9 gms.

Police also seized cash worth RM800,” he told reporters Sunday.

Muhamad Zaki said the suspect also tested positive for the drug methamphetamine.

He said the drugs brought from Johor Baharu was believed to be marketed in the northern states and the suspect has been remanded for a week starting yesterday.

“The suspect had three previous criminal records involving drugs,” he said. — Bernama
