New Zealand scholarship opportunity for young Asean leaders

VICTORIA University of Wellington is offering five undergraduate scholarships to students from the Asean region for study next year.

Known as the Asean Undergraduate Tuition Fees Scholarship, the scholarship covers tuition fees for the

first year of study for an undergraduate degree commencing in 2017.

Victoria International director Julia Innocente-Jones said the bond between Victoria University of Wellington and the Asean region has grown over many years.

“The purpose of the scholarship is to promote educational opportunities for young Asean students who have an excellent academic record and leadership potential,” she said.

Applicants must be under the age of 23 on Dec 31, 2016 and students must begin their study at Victoria in either Trimester 1 or Trimester 2, 2017.

Victoria is one of New Zealand’s oldest and most prestigious universities, and has an established tradition of

excellence in research-based teaching across seven faculties: Architecture and Design; Education; Engineering; Humanities and Social Sciences; Law; Science and the Victoria Business School.

Applications for the Asean Undergraduate Tuition Fees scholarship are now open and will be accepted until Oct 31.
