KUCHING: The Taekwondo Association of Sarawak (WTF) is sending a 10-strong team for the challenge in the grand final of the Taekwondo Malaysia (WTF) Sportexcel-NSC-Milo International Taekwondo Championship in Kuala Lumpur from Nov 11-13.

The seven exponents are Eimran Ghaffary, Tan Yen Ming, Rebecca John Nedek, Nurul Fatihah Roslan, Monica Sharma, Audrey Nu Alexander and Nurul Nur Hafizza; coached by  Mohd Amirul Juwanda and Virtlam Umpau while state chief instructor and technical chairman Tan Check Joon is team manager.

“It has always been the association’s aim and objective to train and develop more young potential athletes for national and international competitions.

“Furthermore, we hope not only to sharpen our athletes’ skills but to overcome weaknesses in preparation for the qualifying to the SEA Games Kuala Lumpur next year,” said Sarawak Taekwondo Association (WTF) president Mohamad Salleh Sani.

“I have high hopes and confidence that our team will go all out to put up a good challenge at the national meet in Kuala Lumpur,” he added.
