SIBU: Masland Methodist Church at Island Road has a Christmas story to tell from Dec 1 to its climax on Christmas night.

Event chairman Ying Sy Huat said Hoover Square would come alive during the more than three weeks of celebration with stalls set up to narrate the biblical story of Christmas with illustrations.

“Themed ‘Chasing Dreams’, we are sharing the joy and love of the season. Apart from the storytelling event set up in stalls on the square, we shall have animated characters meeting children and the public to spice up the spirit of Christmas,” he said.

They would launch the festive activities at the square at 8pm on Dec 1 with the lighting of Christmas lights.

On Christmas Week from Dec 19 to 23, they would host a nightly concert of songs, dances and carols.

On Dec 24 would be a celebration of Christmas Eve and on Dec 25, a grand presentation in the church to wrap up this season of joy, sharing, peace and love.

The church has already put up the Christmas crib to display the Nativity scene.

More Christmas decorations are on the way to brighten up the square.
