KUCHING: A number of places across Sarawak was hit by a power outage which began at 6.38pm this evening (Nov 26).

According to Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB), the Oya-Selangau 275kV double circuit tripped, causing loss of supply in Kuching and Sibu.

The SEB spokesperson estimated restoration within two hours, but power began returning at around 7.21pm.

As of 8pm, 50 percent of Kuching had been restored.

“We are continuing with our efforts to restore power fully to all affected areas the soonest possible,” SEB said on their Twitter account.
