Governor Urges Residents Not to Rally to Jakarta

BANJARBARU, Kalsel: Governor of South Kalimantan Sahbirin Noor urged citizens not to leave for Jakarta take part in the on Dec. 2 rally Volume III, AntaranewsKalsel reported.

“No need to go to Jakarta. Better stay here together to build the region,” he said in Banjarbaru Monday.

He said he has not received any information about South Kalimantan community who went to Jakarta and intend to follow the action, which will be centered in the National Monument Park.

He explained participating in demonstration and expressing aspirations is the right of every person, but it is better in the area without having to go out together to the capital.

“We assess, if people go to Jakarta just a waste of time, effort and cost, so better stay in the area to run the activities as usual,” he said.

South Kalimantan Police chief Brigadier General Erwin Triwanto said it has not received information or reports about citizens who go to Jakarta to attend the rally.

According to him, indicates did exist that four to five residents intended to Jakarta for the rally, but lack of funding, so they did not depart.
