SIBU: Teams are invited for the Sibu Lea Sports Centre 9-a-side Football Tournament to be held at Prison field in Awang Ramli Amit Road here from Dec 10 – 11.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, Sibu Division Football Association deputy president Major (R) Moses Ripal said he expected teams from Selangau, Kanowit and Durin besides Sibu as the tournament was open to all.
Closing date for the event, organised by Sibu Division Football Association in collaboration with Sibu Lea Sports Centre (LSC), is Dec 8.
Registration fee is RM320 per team.
Jerseys can be collected for free from Lea Sports Centre at Sanyan Building.
The top four teams will receive LSC vouchers worth RM1000, RM600, RM400 and RM200 respectively.
The best player and top scorer will walk away with LSC vouchers worth RM100 each.
The competition aims to unearth talent for next year’s competitions such as the Sarawak Youth Cup for under 19.

Meanwhile, Moses disclosed that the association would hold more development programmes under its new committee headed by Dr Kamurudin Ahmed Junaidi.
