MIRI: A 10-year-old girl and her seven-year-old brother reported missing on Wednesday have been found safe and well.

They were found at a mosque in Piasau here around 8am yesterday by their uncle. Both are being warded at Miri Hospital and will be placed under the care of Miri Welfare Department for further action. The city’s deputy police chief, Supt Stanley Jonathan Ringgit when contacted confirmed receiving a report on the incident.

“Both children have been found safe and well this morning (yesterday) at a mosque in Piasau, police have been informed of the discovery,” said Stanley.

It is understood that their 38-year-old father had sent them to their aunt’s house around 2pm on Wednesday (Nov 30).

When the father arrived at 5pm to pick them up the same day, the children were missing, prompting him to search for them. They were found the next morning (yesterday) after sleeping on the five-foot-way in Krokop.
