PUTRAJAYA: Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah yesterday attended the ‘One Thousand Memories with the Raja Permaisuri Agong’ event at Seri Perdana here.

Tuanku Hajah Haminah arrival at the event, which was organised by the Welfare Association of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers (Bakti), was welcomed by the Prime Minister’s wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.

In her speech, Rosmah, who is also Bakti president, said the function was held to express the association’s highest appreciation and gratitude to Her Majesty in conjunction with the completion of the reign of Tuanku Abdul Halim as the 14th Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Recalling fond memories she had with the Raja Permaisuri Agong, Rosmah said the queen’s natural personality traits, which were friendly and approachable made her feel sad when thinking about the coming farewell.

Rosmah said the Raja Permaisuri Agong’s life at Istana Negara had never restricted her movement to go down to meet the people and it was translated through Her Majesty’s involvement in various charity works and social activities, especially involving women and children.

“As the Raja Permaisuri Agong, Her Majesty is the royal patron of various associations and organisations and such engagement proves that she is very concerned and close to the people,” she said.

Rosmah also registered her and Bakti members’ admiration for the leadership of Tuanku Abdul Halim for successfully carrying out his duties and for his

profound concern towards the progress and prosperity of the people.

At the event, Tuanku Hajah Haminah was also entertained to performances by Bakti members and a special video screening from the association before being presented with a momento from Rosmah. — Bernama
