KOTA KINABALU: Christmas came early for 10 residents and four caretakers of Rumah Bakti Harapan in Inanam as Promenade Hotel gave them a surprise with its Santa and Santarina distributing Christmas goodies, new sets of mattresses, rubber mat, pants, assorted cookies and sundry goods.
The visitors also treated them to a hearty meal. “We’ve been organising this annual festive lunch to celebrate Christmas with residents of this home; and are happy to be able to regularly spend time with them throughout the year ever since the hotel adopted them in year 2001,” said Anita Chung, the hotel’s Group Director of Sales & Marketing.
As part of the hotel’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to aid those in need, this home which shelters mentally and physically challenged residents with ages ranging from 19 to 48 years old has been undertaking the responsibility of absorbing the home’s utility bills and frequently contributing sundry goods for their daily consumption and clothes during scheduled visits throughout the year.
Another recent CSR activity saw Promenade Hotel Kota Kinabalu donating a total of 100 pieces of hotel pillow covers to another charity home – Rumah Bukit Harapan, Tuaran.
Ginantar Balud, president of Rumah Bakti Harapan and Audra of Rumah Bukit Harapan, Tuaran welcome any forms of contributions as both homes depend on public assistance to meet their expenditure.
