MIRI: Sarawak for Sarawakians (S4S) handed over a memorandum for the Queen of England to the British High Commission in Kuala Lumpur recently.

A British High Commission officer received the memorandum as well as a copy for British Prime Minister Theresa May.

S4S representative Fong Pau Teck said in a statement that this was the movement’s second attempt to deliver the memorandum to the Queen.

“During the first attempt, the document which was posted to Buckingham Palace, was returned unopened after three months.

“We trust that this time round, we will not be wasting our effort through massive British bureaucracy and red tape,” he said.

He said the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) could not be ignored as Malaysians had been living in a federation created by it.

“The fact will always remain that without MA63, there is no Federation of Malaysia. We stand by our efforts to reach out in good faith to the British government as the architect and principal signatory of MA63, in the fervent belief that the destiny of Sarawakians are always in the good hands of the British administrators as our history has shown,” he said.

“We will continue our efforts relentlessly for the good of our future generations in the best interests of Malaysians to achieve the full compliance of the Malaysia Agreement 1963 to save Sarawak,” said Fong.
