Jadi Juta to take TMC Mobile services to Sabah

Jadi Juta Group (JJG) will be taking to Sabah, the TMC Mobile service provided at the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism (MAHA) 2016 Exhibition here. This follows the strong interest shown by telcos from the state towards the service provided by Telco Mini Center (TMC) at the event.

 

Shell starts oil production from Malikai deep-water platform

Shell has started oil production from the Malikai Tension-Leg Platform (TLP), located 100-kilometres off the coast of Sabah. Located in waters up to 500 metres deep, Malikai is Shell’s second deep-water project in Malaysia, following the successful start-up of the Gumusut-Kakap platform in 2014. Malikai is expected to have a peak production of 60,000 barrels per day. As the company’s first TLP in the country, Malikai is an example of the strength of Shell’s global deep-water business, applying TLP expertise from decades of operations in the US Gulf of Mexico.

 

Plantation’s November inventory numbers garner mixed views

The plantation sector’s inventory for November has garnered mixed views, either coming in within or slightly below expectations. Malaysia palm oil inventory level of 1.66 million metric tonnes (MT) as of end-November 2016 was within the research arm of MIDF Amanah Investment Bank Bhd’s expectation against its estimate of 1.63 million MT and consensus’ 1.69 million-1.7 million MT.

 

Sabah able to sustain economic growth at 4-4.5 pct — Musa

Sabah will be able to sustain its economic growth at a moderate pace of at least four to 4.5 per cent next year amid the mounting global economic challenges, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman. Musa, who is also Sabah Finance Minister, said last year the state recorded 6.1 per cent growth compared to the nation’s five per cent, making it the state with the fastest economic growth in the country.

SAE aims to service 80 aircraft next year

Sepang Aircraft Engineering (SAE) Sdn Bhd aims to service 80 aircraft next year, versus 60 to-date, as the company’s three new hangars will start operations then, said Commercial and Marketing Head, To Chow Leah.

 

KL-SG HSR project to have robust governance structure

The government is committed to ensuring that fiscal management of the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High-Speed Rail (KL-SG HSR) project, will have a robust governance structure for transparent and efficient use of resources. Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan said Malaysia is serious in its commitment to the KL-SG HSR and has spent a long time researching and analysing the project.

MATRADE: Services sector not subject to BNM’s new measures

Companies exporting their products under the services sector are not subject to measures introduced by Bank Negara Malaysia, says the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade). Chief executive officer Datuk Dzulkifli Mahmud said under the 11th Malaysia Plan, the government aims for the services sector to improve export revenue by more than 40 per cent from the RM135 billion recorded in 2015 to RM195 billion.
