LAHAD DATU: A woman was killed and two persons were injured in a collision between a Proton Iswara and an Isuzu D-Max at Km 62, Jalan Lahad Datu-Tungku on Friday.

District police chief ACP Hamzah Ahmad yesterday said the 45-year-old victim was identified as Agustina Binti Lapi.

Hamzah added that the injured were the Proton Iswara driver and the 32-year-old female driver of D-Max while her two passengers escaped unhurt.

He said the D-Max was heading to Tungku from Lahad Datu when the incident occurred.

Initial investigation found that the D-Max driver rammed into the Proton Iswara travelling in the same direction.

“The impact of the crash caused the victim to be thrown out of the vehicle and died on the spot, before the car crashed into a hut at the roadside. The Proton Iswara driver, who suffered serious injuries, was sent to the district hospital,” said Hamzah.
