MIRI: Flash floods in Lawas yesterday forced 19 people from Kampung Siang-Siang to be evacuated to higher ground.
Limbang Civil Defence Force officer Mahathir Mohd Isa said the Trusan community hall was opened at 10.06pm on Tuesday to accommodate the victims when flash floods hit their village following heavy rain.
“The relief centre was closed at 10.15am yesterday when water in the village receded and the victims were allowed to return home,” he said when contacted. — Bernama
