MIRI: ‘Like a bird returning to its nest’is how Morshidi Fredrick describes his return to Miri as the new secretary of Miri City Council (MCC) effective Jan 3.

Morshidi, who was with the then Miri Municipal Council some 20 years ago, replaces Junaidi Mohidin who is on transfer to Sarikei following his appointment as its new Resident.

A dinner was held here Tuesday to bid farewell to Junaidi and welcome Moshidi.

Mayor Adam Yii and his fellow councillors were also present.

Yii welcomed Morshidi’s return, saying he had vast experience in the management of  city councils as well as knowledge of the history of Miri.

He is confident that Morshidi will help strengthen the team and guide Miri to more development as well as highlight Miri as a popular resort city in Sarawak and the country.
