SIBU: Jimisar Motors yesterday launched the all-new Honda BR-V, a full 7-seater crossover starting from RM86,800, at its Jalan Salim showroom here.

The Honda BR-V (Bold Runabout Vehicle) has been specially developed by Honda R&D Asia Pacific Co Ltd (HRAP) for the Asia and Oceanic region and it is the first HRAP model to be introduced in the country.

According to Jimisar Group executive director Andy Ismail, the BR-V offers a SUV (sport utility vehicle) body design with the roominess of an MPV (multi-purpose vehicle).

The BR-V is powered by a 1.5-litre engine (120PS) combined with CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission) gearbox developed by Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology.

Andy said the BR-V comes with dual tone alloy wheels, roof rail, daytime running lights, rear view camera (available in V-spec only), reverse sensors and rear air-conditioning.

“The BR-V also comes with an impressive one touch tilt and tumble 60:40 configuration for its second row seat adjustments while the third row seat comes in a 50:50 tilt and tumble.

“The BR-V V-variant provides B-Segment features such as 6.1” display audio, auto air conditioning, push start button and smart entry, leather trims and leather steering wheels with switch audio control.

“This vehicle is known for its big trunk space (223 litres with all the seats up, 539 litres when third seats are folded), high engine output (120ps) and high ground clearance (201mm),” he said.

The BR-V is equipped with safety features developed by Honda G-Con Technology which reduces occupant injury during collision.

The safety features include Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), dual front SRS airbags, Hill Start Assist (HAS), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD).

Andy said the vehicle has been awarded with a five-star ASEAN NCAP rating for adult occupant protection and a four-star rating for child occupant protection.

The noise, vibration and harshness have been further enhanced for a quiet and comfortable ride for the family, he said, adding that the vehicle also comes with a five-year warranty period with unlimited mileage.

Andy said Honda has managed to maintain first position in the non-national TIV (Total Industry Volume) and second position in overall TIV with a market share of 15.8 per cent. East Malaysia has recorded 5,607 units of sales last year.

“Despite current market condition, we strongly believe there will be a great demand for the all new BR-V.  I’m pleased to announce that our company has collected 25 bookings as of today.

“With the current product line-ups and the introduction of this new vehicle, our company will be aiming for an average of 80 units of registration and 700 units of service throughput on monthly basis throughout this year,” he added.

The all new BR-V comes in two variants, E (RM86,800) and V (RM93,000) and is available in five colours – Taffeta White, Lunar Silver, Modern Steel Metallic, Golden Brown Metallic and Dark Ruby Red Pearl.

Test drive is now available at Jimisar Motors Jalan Salim showroom.
