KUCHING: Rangers Corps Veterans Association (PVTKR) donated a wheelchair to former comrade, Gu Endai at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) recently.

The donation was presented to the retired colonel by PVTKR president Lt-Col (Rtd) Mohd Melintang Abdullah

Gu joined the Eighth Royal Rangers Regiment (RRD) on Jan 17, 1973 and retired as a corporal on Jan 17, 1994. He has six children – two of whom are still schooling.

It is learned that he has been suffering from complications related to diabetes over the last 20 years.

On Dec 16 last year, he was hospitalised and the doctors told him that his left leg had to be amputated.

To date, PVTKR has donated 10 wheelchairs to veteran Sarawak Rangers. Over the years, the association has opened service centres at major urban areas and towns across the state to reach out to more veterans and have them as members.
