LIMBANG: Eleven vehicles owned by locals and foreigners passed inspection during an operation conducted last Sunday at the Pandaruan Customs, Immigration and Quarantine Complex (CIQ) by the Anti-Narcotics Division of the Limbang District Police.

The operation mounted by six personnel and an officer of the Anti-Narcotics Division, was held for two hours from 12.30pm to 2.30pm.

“Checks on 18 owners and passengers found that they were free of drug abuse and trafficking.

“Despite the clean record, the police will continue to conduct such operations from time to time, as part of our efforts and vision to make Limbang crime free,” said Limbang District police chief Superintendent Mohd Bukhori Saffai yesterday.

He added the operation was also to prevent the border post from becoming an entry point for smuggling of prohibited items including drugs while ensuring security and peace at the border post is maintained.
