SIBU: Three Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Pelawan Youth wing members filed police reports against a Facebook user on Wednesday.

The reports claimed the Facebook user had allegedly posted insensitive and libellous remarks against Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem.

PBB Pelawan Youth wing chairman Mohamad Junaidi Sambang claimed the posting could also create racial tension, cause disharmony and disrupt the peace.

Sibu police chief ACP Saiful Bahri confirmed receiving the reports, which would be investigated under Section 500 of the Penal Code for defamation and also under the Communications and Multimedia Act.

He reminded social media users to refrain from making insensitive and racist remarks as they could be prosecuted.
