Fire victims receive the food items and cooking utensils distributed by the Social Welfare Department.
SIBU: The Social Welfare Department of Sarawak distributed food items and cooking utensils to 26 persons from six families who formerly stayed at a building gutted by fire on Lanang Road.
The food items and cooking utensils were distributed with the help of Civil Defence Force members on Saturday, after the incident which occurred earlier at 5.30am.
The fire was said to have started from a car workshop before spreading to the first floor of the building.
However, all the victims escaped unhurt but they failed to salvage most of their belongings.
