KUCHING: Brazilian defender Demerson Bruno Costa and Croatian striker Mateo Roskam have become Sarawak head coach David Usop’s choice to fill up the final two slots in the Sarawak team for the new Super League season.

The duo obviously impressed him during the friendly match against Kuching last Friday.

“Both of them have the characteristics of the players I am looking for, with Demerson a commanding defender and hard to penetrate.

Whereas Mateo controls the ball very well and is capable of scoring goals in any situation,” he said, hoping that both would be able to pass the fitness test today.

Demerson, 30, spent most of his football career by playing for clubs in Brazil where he last played for Chapecoense Football Club while 29-year old Mateo played for Sime Darby FC in 2014 when he scored nine goals.

He wore the Tampines Rovers jersey in the Singapore League in 2015 before deciding to venture to Sarawak.

Filipino player Mark Andrew Hartman and South Korean Lee Jong Ho are the other two foreign import players who have made the Sarawak team.

Sarawak will launch the players jerseys for the new season on Saturday Jan 21 at City One Megamall at 3pm.

The event will be officiated by Ministry of Youth, Sports and Solidarity permenant secretary Kameri Affendi.
