KUCHING: Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers’ Association (Sheda) Kuching branch will be organising its first home and property roadshow on March 3 to March 5, 2017.
The event will be held at Boulevard Shopping Mall Kuching from 10am to 9pm.
Organising chairman Peter Lau said, “The roadshow is an opportunity for consumers and investors to find property deals and related products and services.
“Besides, there will be representatives from the Bank Negara Malaysia regional branch office providing information on personal credit checking through the Central Credit Reference Information System (CCRIS), banking advisory and financial management through Agensi Kaunseling and Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK).
“Hence, potential property buyers can talk to them and enquiry with them on their credit rating and other information on financial management,” he told a press conference here recently.
He believed the property roadshow is an early opportunity in the Year of the Rooster for developers to promote their projects and conduct their branding exercise.
On a related matter, Lau said there will be exhibition from developers and a few non-government organisations (NGOs) participating at the event.
Other than that, he said there will also be a blood donation event to be held during the roadshow.
He added, “We hope to get more exhibitors to take part in the next few days before the Chinese New Year.
“There are still some booths in strategic locations for potential exhibitors to choose from at this juncture.
Apart from that, Lau revealed there will be a few exciting activities organised during the roadshow for instance a car show from two brands, Honda and Mitsubishi which will be displaying their latest car models and promotions during the three-day event.
He pointed out that Sheda Kuching branch is committed to organise multiple home and property roadshows in a year for the benefits of its members and consumers in Sarawak.
Meanwhile, Sheda Kuching branch advisor Sim Kiang Chiok said the lacklustre sentiment for the property market at present provides a good opportunity for property buyers to shop for bargain deals at the roadshow.
“It is a purchaser’s market now. At the moment, developers will try to sell off unsold units,” he said.
Therefore, he believed potential property buyers especially those with good credit rating with financial institutions will be able to purchase property at bargaining prices.
