Two housewives paralyse thief

KANDANGAN, South Kalimantan: Two housewives in South Hulu Sungai (HSS) paralysed a thief who barely managed to steal Rp3 million money from Rooswan Riajni, resident of Parincahan, West Kandangan, AntaranewsKalsel reported.

Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner (AKBP) Sukendar Eka Ristyan Putra through the Head of Public Relations AKP Agus Winartono here on Sunday said the incident was on Saturday (14/1), when a man with a neatly dressed went to the victim’s house, Rooswan.

“The suspect entered the house that he thought empty. It turned out, when opening the door the owner was in. Then the suspect pretended to ask: Is there Mama Riza,” he said.

Roswan, the housewife, said she did not know. Suddenly, the suspect pulled the victim’s bag slung over her shoulder.

They fight each other for the bag, but it turned out to be a thief more powerful, and eventually brought the bag run. The victim screamed there was a thief and asked for help.

The scream made other housewife, Helda Sari, who also was the victim’s friend, chasing the thief.

“At that time, Helda immediately ran after the thief who almost grab her bike, and managed to pull his shirt to fall. Then the two housewives were immediately held the suspect and called the police,” he said.

A short time later, members of police came to the scene and secured perpetrator of theft with violence (curas) and the evidence in the form of money and a motorcycle.

Based on the information, the 35 years old suspect, K, is a resident of Sungai Pinang Lama, Samarinda.

Since the last few weeks, the theft is rife in almost all areas of South Kalimantan, with modus pretend to offer something or ask something, when such action is known by the homeowner.
