KUCHING: It is two days to the unveiling of Sarawak team kit for the 2017 Super League season.
The Borneo Post spoke to some local fans about their wish list for the new jerseys.
Deleis Anchu, who hails from Serian, felt strongly that the state’s colours (home) should be a blend of red and black.
“Red and black has been the identity of Sarawak for so long. If possible, I hope the team returns to their black and red this season after wearing all red last year,” he added.
To Fairul Samsudin from Simunjan, the colours don’t matter.
He wants the jersey material to be of quality as he argues that fans have to fork out quite a sum to buy the player edition replicas or fan versions.
Mathew Chong from Kuching is not too particular about the apparel as long as the team achieves success.
“To me, even if Sarawak wears the best looking and quality jersey, it would be meaningless if the team does not achieve anything. Any quality or colour of the jersey will do for me as long as the team pleases the fans with their performances,” he said.
All three said they do not mind what colour or design the Crocs use for away matches.
Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) have announced that Sarawak will unveil their new kit at CityOne Megamall at 3pm on Thurday (Jan 19).
According to FAS secretary general Razali Dolhan, the unveiling ceremony was initially scheduled for Jan 14 but was postponed in respect of the mourning period following the passing of the late Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem.
The new Sarawak players will also be introduced to fans at the same ceremony.
